With an easy drive south of Fort Knox, you can live in the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln – LaRue County, Kentucky. Hodgenville, the county seat, is home to most of LaRue County’s professional services as well as local dining and shopping options. While the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Park attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, LaRue County is home to 14,000 residents. School-aged children can attend LaRue County Public Schools and private, faith-based options are available in nearby Hardin and Nelson counties.

Each October, Hodgenville’s town square is jam-packed with what is likely the largest collection of Abraham Lincoln look-alikes for the famed Lincoln Days celebration, but no matter the time of year you’ll find a supportive community who takes great pride in welcoming military families.
