West Point
Located on the northwest boundary of Fort Knox where the Ohio and Salt Rivers meet, West Point, Kentucky is one of the oldest cities in the commonwealth. With most of its downtown on the National Register of Historic Places, the small town is a history lover’s dream that also includes Fort Duffield – built by the Union during the Civil War. If you enjoy history, hiking, boating, fishing, life on the river, and a small town with easy access to Fort Knox, Hardin County and the Louisville metropolitan area, give West Point a look.
Baptist Health Hardin, with its main hospital located just a short drive south in Elizabethtown, is the primary healthcare provider with several locations offering primary and specialty care. West Point’s northern Hardin County location also puts its residents in closer proximity to Louisville’s other major medical centers. School-aged children attend Hardin County Public Schools, and private and faith-based options are available in nearby Radcliff, Elizabethtown, and Louisville.
