Elizabethtown

Elizabethtown or “E-town” is home to welcoming people, great schools and world-class healthcare. As the county seat of Hardin County with a population of nearly 30,000, it is a shopping and dining destination for the entire region. That includes its flourishing historic downtown with unique boutiques, a variety of eateries and community festivals. Baptist Health Hardin is the local healthcare provider, with more than 50 primary and specialty care locations throughout the region as well as a 300-bed hospital.

With Fort Knox just a short drive to the north and as one of the fastest-growing manufacturing centers in the nation, Elizabethtown offers a wide range of employment opportunities. Two public school systems serve the community – Hardin County Public Schools and Elizabethtown Independent Schools – along with private, faith-based education providers such as Saint James Catholic School. Residents have several options for outdoor activities. As Kentucky’s first urban trail town, Elizabethtown’s Greenspace trail network offers many opportunities for fun, such as beautiful Freeman Lake Park. A destination for events of all sizes, Elizabethtown Sports Park, welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year for softball and soccer tournaments.
